Breathe. Just...breathe!

You already know how to breathe. Obviously. (If you’re reading this without being able to breathe, please teach me – it sounds interesting!) But how often do you consciously breathe? Do you know about the benefits of doing that?
Consciously breathing (being aware of your breath) gives you a kind of grounding. Instead of connecting directly to the earth, breathing connects you to a sense of centre in yourself. It gets you out of your head and into the moment.
Try and ‘improve’ your breathing with three simple ideas. Breathe more powerfully, breathe more slowly, and breathe more deeply.
Breathe more powerfully: bring more air in and expel more air out.
Breathe more slowly: take longer to breathe in and to breathe out.
Breathe more deeply: try and take the breath into the belly, not just in the chest.
Have a go just for 30 seconds now – there’s no point reading about breathing when you could…just…be…breathing!
